Helping you win back a Healthy Heart

From primary phase diagnosis to cardiovascular interventions and open heart surgery, the Heart Center, Bangkok Hospital Phuket is the only one in the Andaman region with full-scale cardiac care services. Let’s check it out.

Heart Failure Clinic: Prevention is key

Excellent heart health in the long run comes from regular check-up. With advanced technologies, our preventive cardiologist can detect early signs and provide personalized counseling as to appropriate lifestyle, diet, exercise, weight, stress management, etc. Be sure to fall in the most professional hands of our multidisciplinary team consisting of dietitians, pharmacists, lifestyle coach, and more.

Highlight heart tests

CT Calcium Score: a non-invasive test to measure the amount of calcified plaque in coronary arteries and evaluate the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD), a heart attack, stroke

VO2 Max: the maximum amount of oxygen you can take in during exercise helps evaluate risk profiles in patients with coronary artery disease, and provide guidance in terms of preventive heart care.

Arrhythmia Clinic

Arrhythmia is a medical condition in which the heart does not beat with a regular rhythm, or at the normal rate, i.e. faster than 100 beats per minute or slower than 60 beats per minute. 1 in 4 persons over the age of 55 has Atrial Fibrillation (AF), which is the most common cardiac arrhythmia causing a fast and irregular heartbeat and even a fatal stroke. Our electrophysiology cardiac physician (EP Physician), currently the only one in the Andaman region, is on hand to provide consultation and state-of-the-art care, e.g. anticoagulation medicine, implantable loop recorder, pulmonary vein isolation (cryoballoon), pacemaker, implantable cardiovascular defibrillator (ICD). 2

Cardiovascular Interventions

Key symptoms of coronary artery disease include pain in the chest, jaw, neck or arm, feelings similar to GERD or dyspepsia. They may not be explained by general tests and risk becoming Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS). Then, coronary angiogram with or without cardiac interventions can be performed to diagnose and treat blocked or narrowing arteries at the same time. With the latest cardiac intervention via wrist (radial artery approach), our interventional cardiologist can help patients overcome increasing chest pain, underlying heart disease since birth, and heart valve problems. Key advantages of cardiac intervention via wrist over conventional femoral approach (upper leg) include reduced bleeding, lower vascular complications, a faster recovery, increased patient satisfaction with a better quality of life afterwards.
