Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Bangkok Hospital Phuket and nine famous hotels in Phuket

Bangkok Hospital Phuket has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with nine hotels to promote medical tourism in Phuket and hope to stimulate development of this sector and drive more integration between the travel and healthcare industries.

Under this agreement, the hospital and the hotels will focus on Phuket areas: helping the health and travel industries identify commercial opportunities in health-care travel, and assisting governments and tourism authorities develop strategies to promote this sector.

At the signing ceremony, Dr Kongkiat Kespechara, Director of Bangkok Hospital Phuket, said that the hospital would arrange first aid training for staff of the nine signatory hotels and would ensure staff knew what to do in the event of an emergency. The hotels were also inspected to check that facilities are suitable for patients recovering after surgery or other medical treatment.
