Phuket is located on the west coast, in the southern part of Thailand. This is the largest island in Thailand, which is surrounded by another 32 islands, has total area 570 square kilometers.
Phuket's weather is typical of its location near an area influenced by monsoon winds: warm, humid, but pleasant all year long. There are only two seasons: the rainy season, from May to November, during the southwest monsoon, and the hot season, from December to April, when the monsoon winds blow from the northeast. March has the highest average temperature, 33.4 c, and the lowest average temperatures are experienced early morning in January, when the thermometer fails to 22 c.

You may know “Tom Yam”, “Phad Thai”, “Green Curry” as popular Thai Food. Phuket has a number of special local dishes which are different from those of other parts of Thailand and visitors should not miss trying them out.
Kanom Jeen or nice noodle is one of very popular breakfast menus for people in Phuket. There are many kinds of curries served with Kanom Jeen, such as Nam Choop or dipping, Nam Ya curry which is made from flakes of cooked fish, curry paste and coconut milk, Kang Tai Pla or the curry prepared from the viscera of fish, Chicken Currry. Kanom Jeen is usually served with various kinds of vegetables, boiled eggs, Pa Tong Koh which is the Chinese version of doughnuts and How Mok, the salted fish mixed with curry paste and coconut milk. Kanom Jeen is available in many shops. The well-known shops are Khwan Shop on Thoong Kha Road, Pa Mai Shop on Satul Road and others. Nam Prik Kung Siab is Phuket style hot shrimp paste sauce with sweetened crisp shrimps, served with fresh vegetables.

Oh Oiew, this sweet is like jelly. It is made of KUAY Nam Wa, a kind of banana mixed with sugar. Oh Oiew is served with syrup and ice. The original famous shops are in Soon Uthit Sub-lane on Yaowarat Road, and the other one is on Vichitsongkram Road near the entrance of Lhor Loeng Sub-lane.
